Kids deserve nature. Parents also deserve the opportunity to become their child’s most influential teacher. Ocean State Kids is on a mission to restructure your child’s “classroom”, and build a community of families that all share the same desire for outdoor learning, nature play, and protecting childhood.
OSK is excited to share our partnership with Revive The Roots in Smithfield, RI. Our two organizations share a similar vision of cultivating an environment where families can thrive through sustainable practices, community building, and education. Revive The Roots wholeheartedly graced Ocean State Kids with the opportunity to share their land, allowing our parents and children to grow together, outside, for the next 14 weeks.
The Smithfield Estrellitas is led by volunteer group leader Dilena Starr, aiming to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all families. We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels encouraged to actively participate and engage with our children in nature. Spanish will be integrated into our program, offering bilingual families and those interested in language exposure a unique opportunity. Additionally, we will incorporate cultural elements from South America to enrich our understanding and appreciation of diverse traditions.
