A Season of Rest
Ocean State Kids is taking a much-needed season of rest as we build a stronger foundation for the future. While outdoor group memberships are temporarily paused, let's keep in touch and keep the conversation going. Join our mailing list to hear when we're ready to begin this next chapter together.

What if the goal is to prolong childhood long enough to see where it takes us?
Rebirth Coming Soon
We find ourselves with a radical inability to raise conforming kids—and an even greater need to make more space for the magical chaos of childhood. For the weirdness, the ridiculous projects, the sticks that will never look dangerous, the slides they’re allowed to walk up, and the interests that take over the whole house. For kids who move through the world at a different frequency, and the parents learning to see through a new lens when everything we thought we knew starts to unravel.
What began as a way to bring families outside has become something bigger: an exploration of what happens when we stop trying to shape childhood into something recognizable and start trusting the tiny people instead. When we consciously question the rules we inherited, we start to recognize what is stirring in us, too—because raising children has a funny way of uncovering the parts of ourselves we learned to stuff away.
What if the goal is to prolong childhood long enough to see where it takes us? To give our kids—and ourselves—more time to follow what fascinates us, stay close, lose track of time, stop making so many damn plans, and maybe remember exactly why our children chose us.
